TESSY can import and export test data
Import/export of test data from/to Excel workbooks lets you easily generate additional test cases and enables you to calculate expected values automatically.
Import/export of test data from/to ASCII files lets you easily exchange test data with various tools, e.g. to import existing test data. Converting test data to/from the ASCII file format of TESSY is simple.
TESSY can import test data from Excel workbooks or ASCII files.
TESSY can export test data from Excel workbooks or ASCII files.
TESSY can import test data from the Classification Tree Editor (CTE).
TESSY can import specifications and descriptions from the Classification Tree Editor (CTE).
An Excel workbook in TESSY format has several sheets.
The test cases reside in the “Values” sheet of an Excel workbook.
Hint: If you want to create test cases in an Excel workbook, first create this Excel workbook by exporting a (dummy) test case from TESSY to the Excel workbook. Then edit the workbook and add test cases.
Example for test data in an ASCII file suitable for TESSY:
In the figure above, the values of the columns are separated by tabs. CSV (Comma Separated Values) and YAML (YAML Ain’t Markup Language) is also possible.
